Dimash and Sundet Performed 'Tu Vas Me Detruire' So Beautifully in 'Big Opera 2016'

When Dimash was still in university, he was offered a position at Astana Opera State Theatre by the director, Toleubek Alpiyev. He said that Dimash's voice would be 'ideal for baroque opera'. But Dimash chose to pursue a career in contemporary music. The offer was made after Dimash's duet with Sundet Baigozhin on a Russian competition for young opera singers 'Big Opera 2016'.

They sang an aria 'Tu Vas Me Détruire' from the musical 'Notre Dame De Paris'. At that time, Sundet was representing Kazakhstan on the international project 'Big Opera 2016'.

Notre-Dame de Paris is a sung-through French musical which debuted on 16 September 1998 in Paris. It is based upon the novel Notre-Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame) by the French novelist Victor Hugo. The music was composed by Riccardo Cocciante (also known as Richard Cocciante) and the lyrics are by Luc Plamondon.
