Gashyqtyq By Dimash

It is a holiday in my country, so I had some time to get enough rest and take a deep dive into the fandom, seeing what I had missed.  And of course I had to listen to Gashyqtyq properly.  A quiet room and with Bang Olufsen speakers. Dimash creates such beauty with his singing... he makes the words spellbinding, gently spiralling around his listeners, binding them with such achingly heartbreaking emotion.  I can feel so much pain but cannot break free, I don't want to break free... it is like looking into the darkest parts of the soul, so deep and fathomless...  I fear what I might see but I cannot look away. I do not think I can ever hear Kazakh words spoken without feeling what Dimash has poured into his songs.  In my mind, Kazakh is now a language of deepest emotion and absolute beauty.  Gashyqtyq (Infatuation) (music and lyrics by Dimash Qudaibergen) I am a captive of your radiance The light that warmed the autumn air And pierced the darkness with ...

Dimash's High Notes

I was scrolling around in YouTube comment sections when I came across an old comment of mine under Dimash's 'Love's Not Over Yet' video.  I was responding to a troll comment. It never fails... every time Dimash releases something, the trolls come out. Meh. What else is new? 😂 I've been eight years in this fandom and I have come to realise these people are always going to be around.... like washing machine lint. Just ignore them. Yes, I should take my own advice but I was in a funny mood that day 😘😁 Dimash 'screams' and the troll doesn't like it. Well, I don't really like high notes and my presence in this fandom is a mystery. A miracle, if you like. 😆 But I'm here because Dimash's singing does something to my brain. My heart, my soul. Even his 'screaming'.  The first time I listened to LNOY, the high notes at the end of 'You hold our destiny in your haa-aaaands' made me cringe a bit. Remember I'm 'allergic' to...

'Voice Beyond Horizon' Is Definitely Worth Watching

When I first heard about Dimash's program 'Voice Beyond Horizon', I wondered what he would put together. I knew Dimash is a perfectionist and would want to make sure the program was of a level he considered excellent but I wasn't sure of his skills and knowledge levels when it came to such a production. Plus he might be constrained by sponsor requirements or things of that sort.  I am a huge fan but I don't have blinkers on. I call him a genius when it comes to singing but I wasn't sure about show production.  On the day of premiere, February 5 2026, I sat in front of my laptop and watched promos and the prologue episode.   WELL.  I actually forgot to eat dinner.  The flow of events, the introductions, the wry humour ... oh, so entertaining and engaging.  Then the show itself began. I was hopping from platform to platform trying to find livestreams and trying to respond to numerous msgs asking where when how.  I finally settled on the Mango ...

Dimash On The Singer 2017, Nine Years On

Nine years ago, Dimash stepped up on a stage in China and performed so spectacularly that countless lives were changed.  That decision of his triggered so many to start doing things they had forgotten or never done before... in music and art.  So many got passports, bought tickets so they could fly to concerts in cities they had never heard of before.  Many more installed apps so they could get more of his music.  Going far beyond their comfort zone...  Here is that incredible SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse on the Singer 2017 stage. And a week later, he blew people's socks off with his interpretation of 'Opera 2'. 'Opera 2' was the absolute first Dimash video I saw and watched to the end.  And today is exactly nine years since that broadcast. If I had seen other videos before that, I didn't understand them as Dimash videos and I don't remember them.  But this THIS was the absolute first one that hit me like a sledgehammer. And changed the way I spe...

Dimash's Song 'Fire' On Grammy Global Spin

When I saw Dimash's song 'Fire' on The Recording Academy's YouTube channel (Global Spin series), my heart jumped!  Who doesn't know that the Recording Academy is the organisation behind the Grammys?? For him to be spotlighted like this was fantastic! I found out that Global Spin is a performance series featuring artists from around the world where the celebration of the global music community is the focus.  Yeah, Dimash definitely is global. They also posted this on their website and socmed. RA website    Instagram Facebook    Their text :  Dimash Qudaibergen Ignites "Fire" With A Stadium Performance In Kazakhstan | Global Spin Watch Dimash Qudaibergen light up Astana Arena in Kazakhstan with a pyrotechnic-filled performance of "Fire." "Dimash Performed As If Every Song Was His A Game"

I sometimes scroll through YouTube to watch reactions to Dimash, to hear what others say about him and his art and to get insights from other artists who see Dimash through the lens of their own skills and talents. I like Sir Hairless for his POV as a musician,  And sometimes I like to see what a guy like me (not a musician, not a performer) sees. Such as QofyReacts. QoFyReacts finally went to see Dimash in concert for the first time after reacting to his videos for four years.  Dimash blew his mind. Dears' love for Dimash awed him. And he said Dimash was so appreciative ... it was as if he came to meet his dears, not them coming to meet him. I liked this reaction a lot.

2025 Dimash Stranger Concert Song Book

When I was preparing to go for a Dimash concert in 2023, I found myself scrambling for a lyrics book so I could practise singing his songs. I didn't want to be caught unable to sing... and I didn't want to leave Dimash disappointed.   I was trying to figure out how to create one (for my own use) and was asking other dears how they managed. Some used their phones while others made cards or little books. So I thought, okay, I'll make my own book. And so I did, with help from other dears.   I wanted to print copies of the book but ran out of time. This turned out to be a good thing, actually. The arena was so dark that it was impossible to read any printed material. In the end, reading the lyrics off my phone was the best strategy.   I made the booklet in a format suitable for the phone (Instagram story format) and clear background just in case anyone wanted to print it. Well, that was the 2023 book.   Today I share an updated book , a...

From Sonnets To Song : How I Found A New Kind Of Storyteller

I love stories. Stories in books, stories in paintings, stories screaming from a friend’s tense expression… even stories in a leaf drifting down to the earth. I watch and wonder: Why are you leaving your tree? What have you seen? And of course, I love the storytellers. Those rare, wondrous people who can spin a tale so rich, so vivid, that I gladly lose myself in the world their words create. Some of my favorites? William Shakespeare , he of the twisty, sardonic phrases that dance between comedy and tragedy. Emily Dickinson leaves me with more questions than answers — her prose a puzzle I return to again and again. Oscar Wilde , with his irreverent wit, prances across the page like a well-dressed fox. And even e.e. cummings , whose words never sat where they were supposed to — but somehow still made perfect sense. I’ve read their works over and over again. Each time reveals something I missed before — a tiny gem, a secret tucked between the lines. But storytellers like these are ...

Dimash Sang 'Hymne à L'amour' st Shanghai International Film Festival

Dimash sang Edith Piaf's 'Hymne à L'amour' at the Opening Ceremony of the Shanghai International Film Festival on June 21, 2025.  What an incredible performance!  I think it has become one of my top recommended videos to new people.  Dimash really presented something that fit the many colours of a film festival.

Happy 31st Birthday To An Amazing Artist Dimash Qudaibergen

Happy birthday, Dimash ... thank you for all the groundbreaking music, thank you for the ways you do things so differently and thank you for the wild colours you have brought into the lives of so many.  There will never be anyone like you.

Dimash's 'Tau Ishinde' Is A Real Crowd Pleaser!

Watching Dimash's 'Tau Ishinde' video, I couldn't help but laugh at all the funny moments ... so many winks at his fandom.  And it obviously made many others happy as it hit a million views fast! That man knows stuff about his fandom, doesn't he?  But I bet he held back more than he allowed to show in that crazy laugh fest of a video. Of course, Dimash is never WYSIWYG.  Never.  So I watched the video again and again... and slowly I realised that he was telling us things through the song... things that are starkly different from the visuals on that Karina video. LOL.  Okay, Dimash, we will laugh along with you.  But we also get what you are trying to say. I made a Spotify playlist because of this very interesting song. My playlist is basically inspired by the idea that love is everlasting eternal springtime inside our hearts and souls... and sometimes it can seem as if it's inside a massive mountain echoing and reverberating a power nothing can ...
