Dimash On The Singer 2017, Nine Years On

Nine years ago, Dimash stepped up on a stage in China and performed so spectacularly that countless lives were changed. That decision of his triggered so many to start doing things they had forgotten or never done before... in music and art. So many got passports, bought tickets so they could fly to concerts in cities they had never heard of before. Many more installed apps so they could get more of his music. Going far beyond their comfort zone...

And a week later, he blew people's socks off with his interpretation of 'Opera 2'.

'Opera 2' was the absolute first Dimash video I saw and watched to the end. And today is exactly nine years since that broadcast.

If I had seen other videos before that, I didn't understand them as Dimash videos and I don't remember them. But this THIS was the absolute first one that hit me like a sledgehammer. And changed the way I spent my free time forever.

Dimash was having such a good time singing this song and he was absolutely knocking the socks off the other Singer 2017 participants. You can see their reactions in the video.

Check out Dimash's reaction when he found out that the end that Kanat was in the audience. It was a surprise arranged by the producers.

I am so very happy that I saw this Opera 2 performance video that first time (even though I just clicked on it to make it go away.)

'Shine Super Brothers S2' Program : Dimash & His Bros

When we first heard about the 'Shine Super Brothers S2' program, we weren't sure what it was. Surely it wasn't another version of 'The Singer' for such formats were no longer approved under current Chinese government protocols. Some said it was a competition with eliminations... others said it was just a program with artists living together and working on tasks together. Yet other said it was a reality show where artists were put in a house together and then their daily interactions were observed. It turned out that all these descriptions were correct, in a manner of speaking. Dears waited to see what would happen.
