EP12 (April 23, 2026)
Program FINALE! A journey of 22 days and 7436 kilometres came to an end at Nazarbayev University, fittingly because it was the birthplace of this Belt and Road initiative.
Warning : This is not an objective review ... I was in full-on fan mode!
To kick off the show, judge Cai Guoqing presented a song 三百六十五个祝福 Sānbǎi liùshíwǔ gè zhùfú (365 Blessings)
La Danzhu and Zhang Xinyu (both from China) – performed '波阿妞妞' Fèng huáng yi (Phoenix)
Fresh with inspiration from the Pink Lake, both sang of the confidence and strength of women. Zhang, in her sparkling red gown, opened strong and La Danzhu, serene in white and gold, swooped in with her signature ethereal notes. Had goosebumps on my forearms! This could be an anthem for women as they move forward.
Jeryl Lee Pei Ling (Malaysia) and Princ (Serbia) – performed Love Will Never Die
The performance began with Jeryl silently listening to the opening notes of the song, her elfin look making her look otherworldly while Princ in his black suit stood at her side seemingly awaiting for his lady fair to awaken. By the time she started singing in that warm resonant voice of hers, the audience had been held in a momentary trance, focused on the powerful visual presented by one in scarlet lace and the other in black and white. It is not random that beauty has the ability to transfix audiences and both singers are very beautiful indeed. Add exceptional vocal talent to that mixture and you get magical moments. Princ's deep raspy vocals were a great counterpoint to Jeryl's soprano... these two should make more duets!
Nur Cholpon (Kyrgyzstan) and Giulia Falcone (Italy) – performed Torna a Surriento (Return to Sorrento)
They sang like absolute angels... I am in heaven when I hear these two duet. One sang like bright sunshine warming the ether while the other sang as if weaving silvery threads around a listener's starstruck soul. Oh my goodness, I sound as if I am bespelled LOL. And that moment where a Chinese judge sang together with a Kyrgyz soprano and an Italian singer... oh such moments are created in heaven and gives us hope for our world.
Nurzhas Sadirbayev (Kazakhstan) and Cai Chengyu (China) – performed 我期待 Wǒ qídài (I Wait)
Nurzhas started off and immediately held the audience in the palm of his hand. He has the ability communicate emotions and with a vast vocal range as part of his set of tools, he can create enchantment so very easily. Cai Chengyu of the clear crystalline tones continued the enchanting. So grateful for the chance to hear these artists in my lifetime. You could feel the warmth in the friendship between the two men. 'Say goodbye' a phrase in the song was clearly not an ending for them.. it was a door to more adventures.
Guest performer : Nurlan Abutalip an Egyptian independent singer dedicated to public welfare. She composed the official theme song 'Miracle' for the United Nations World Food Forum which she performed live at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.
And of course, to close on a super high note, Dimash performed 'When I've Got You' with Mansur Qudaibergen on guitar.
The eight singers came together to perform one last epic song 'One Song, One World'.
