Kursiv Media Kazakhstan published an article where Dimash talked about the business of song and navigating the modern industry. It sheds some light on what a veteran thinks of the changing music industry landscape.
Yerlan Iskakov reported :
Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen described music as a powerful diplomatic tool during an interview at the Freedom Inside 2026 forum in Astana.
«Music is an indispensable diplomatic tool. I will continue my work in this direction. Our arms are always open to anyone who wants to be friends with our people and Kazakhstan,» he said.
«Music is a magical phenomenon. I don’t have enough words to describe its power,» he added.
Regarding AI’s growing role in music, Dimash addressed the increasing use of artificial intelligence in music, admitting that more songs are now being created with AI, including some high-quality works.
While he has not personally used such tools, he acknowledged their growing importance.
«You have to move with the times, and AI is part of that. We can’t escape it,» he said. «I believe the world will create many unique things with its help.»
At the same time, he stressed the importance of traditional training for young musicians.
He pointed to his younger brother Mansur, an aspiring multi-instrumentalist, as an example, saying beginners should first focus on formal musical education and mastering foundational skills before turning to AI tools such as Suno.
Music and business closely linked
Asked about his connection to Freedom Holding Corp., the singer said he believes in the company’s mission and its contribution to Kazakhstan’s development.
He added that music and business are closely intertwined.
«Music is also a business. It’s impossible to pursue music at a high level without structure and discipline,» he said. «In that sense, music and business are similar — both require creativity.»
