I was watching Dimash's video of his recording of Samal. There was one part where a man Galeke explained very well one critical aspect of Dimash's art. I felt touched by it and wanted to share it here.
"Galeke, what do you think?"
"A very heartfelt song, I think people will like it. God willing..."
Galeke continued :
"Music is the foundation of everything. Even in my profession. No jokes, no pathos, no overacting."
"We listen to music, get inspired, and then create something.
I just listened to the demo of this song for the first time, and it really sparks my imagination."
"When you listen to other modern artists, to other music in general, if it doesn’t create imagery in your head, I think it’s not that there’s no soul in it, but that there’s no storyline, like in a film."
He talked about 'Samal' :
"Even without fully understanding the lyrics, you can already feel and grasp the atmosphere of this drama."
"That’s why I recommend it. Honestly, the song turned out amazing. Congratulations!"
"A very heartfelt song — my imagination really started to run wild. I started seeing scenes, feeling moments, that pain."
"As an actor and an artist, you convey the full depth of the drama in this song. Many people — Russian speakers or others — even without understanding the translation, will feel it."
"I think you nailed the song. The main thing is for our youth to understand it, feel it, and grow spiritually. Listen only to good, high-quality music — that’s the foundation."
"I’m glad I witnessed the creation of this masterpiece. So, our day today — our working day — has come to an end."
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dimash has a remarkable ability to create imagery in our minds. Through his music, he paints scenes, tells stories, and draws us into worlds of beauty, emotion, and meaning. We do not simply hear his songs—we experience them.
But this magic is not created by vocals alone. Even a voice as extraordinary as his needs the right canvas: a song with a story to tell, an emotion to convey, a message worth sharing.
I used to joke that I would listen to Dimash even if he sang the phone book. Yet the truth is, Dimash would never sing a phone book. He is an artist drawn to meaning, and meaning comes from stories.
That is why I am especially excited to see more of Dimash's own compositions. They offer us not only his voice, but also his imagination, his perspective, and his artistry in its purest form.
Songs come and go, but true art endures. Long after all of us are gone, the works that touch the human spirit will remain. Real art always does.
