Dimash Kudaibergen is a very unusual person, personality, singer, performer, whatever. But he is very unusual.
The Cambridge Advanced Learner's dictionary says that 'unusual'.means 'different from others of the same type in a way that is surprising, interesting or attractive.' Well, that definitely fits our man Dimash.Rather than risking this post turning into a long essay, I'll elaborate in points all the things I find unusual .
1. Dimash has an amazing talent enhanced by long years of vocal work (20 years as of 2019). His mother Sveta Aitbaeva mentioned that he began with only three or four octaves but diligent practice helped to increase his range.
2. Dimash is a singer performer who has been trained in classical and contemporary music
- graduated from K. Zhubanov University, Aktobe (classical music)
- graduated from Kazakh National University of Arts, Nursultan (contemporary music - jazz, pop) - major in Vocal
- currently taking his Masters in Composing at KNUA
3. Dimash remains unbelievably humble, despite his shelves of awards and screaming adoration lavished on him by fans. Here is a recent story, related by someone who saw him waiting outside his university rector's office. .
4. Dimash finds every chance he can get to mention his beloved nation. His favourite call during a performance 'Welcome to Kazakhstan!' All his concerts have a section where he sings Kazakh songs, never mind if he is in London or New York.
5. He gets emotionally touched during concerts when he realises the audience can sing Kazakh songs by heart. And they are not Kazakh. During the New York concert on the 10th of December 2019, he told the audience that they had helped him fulfil his dream of hearing a Kazakh folk song sung by heart by people at an American arena.
6. He has a way of making his dears (his fans) feel so much love and kindness for each other and others. They do have moments of disagreement but not many.
7. He sticks to his principles and beliefs, even when he faces losses. I don't want to elaborate but dears will know what I mean.
