This hashtag #TWBDimash has taken over my social media world.  I've got it everywhere; Twitter, FB, Instagram.. hmm, did I add it to my scattered comments in YouTube?  I bet it even appeared in my Weibo posts.  So who can I blame this on?  CBS, of course.  Specifically 'The World's Best' show. In about two days, Dimash will be performng at the Battle Rounds (Wednesday 9pm EST) and my Twitter account would already be smoking hot and revving to machinegun #TWBDimash.

I first saw this Dimash reaction video by OneShotKi11 on YouTube a year ago and I was screaming my head off in laughter. Literally.  Jeremy aka OneShotKi11 is actually a gamer and he doesn't do reaction videos but was pushed into doing this one by friends.  You could tell his reaction was genuine, he was for real... voicing out his thoughts, gamer-style.    Memorable lines : "So far he doesn't sound like anything I haven't heard in a karaoke bar.." Dimash : Oaaaaaaaaaah - C6 sustained "WHATTT??" "He's out here dressed like Neo from the Matrix. Now I know why... he's the One."  "Is that you, God? Are those angels?"

It is a major compliment when your song is used in an artistic gymnast's routine or in a free skate program and this happened to Dimash. I feel that the music for such routines usually need to be sweeping and panoramic, even overwhelming so as to pull the audience into the performance. Alexandra Soldatova used Dimash's 'Love of Tired Swans' in her ball routine in the AA GP Moscow 2019.   The late Denis Ten used Dimash's 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' in his free skate program in 2017.  

After some time trawling the net and various social media sites, I have come to realise that locating Dimash Kudaibergen's official social media accounts requires some skilful searching and knowledge of three different languages and writing scripts. I have had to memorise the way Dimash Kudaibergen's name is written in Latin script, Cyrillic script and Chinese characters.  And I have had to be able to suss out the actual official account from the many many Dimash Kudaibergens or Kudaibergenovs in Twitter, FB, VK, IG, YouTube etc.  It's mind-boggling!  But I have done it! I have been seeing clips the filming going on in Spain and now in Ukraine? They look fascinating. Alan Badoev also has a great body of work. This is one highly-anticipated music video. Here are some photos released by Dimash Alan Badoev or their collaborators. This song is one of the most enchanting songs I've ever heard and I don't even speak Russian.  It is Dimash who made it an aural beauty.  Here are two of his performances in Russia (made on the same day).  He sang 'Love of Tired Swans' at Russia Channel 1, Moscow (original link to Russia 1 no longer works, so I had to use a dear's YT link) He performed together with Igor Krutoy, one of the premier composers in the music industry Here, he performed the same song later in the evening at the Kremlin. Igor Krutoy was with him as well.

On February 3, 2019, Dimash Kudaibergen sang 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' on an audition on CBS's new talent show 'The World's Best'.    Honestly speaking, he did a slicker performance last year at Slavianski Bazaar.  But the World's Best performance was rawer.  And he really looked the part of a man in distress with the fires all around him... the piano, the mic stand.  The judges obviously thought he was awesome... all of them (bar two) gave him their votes, so that was 48 out of 50, while the three American judges (Drew Barrymore, Faith Hill and RuPaul) gave him FULL MARKS (50 out of 50 each).  98 out of a 100 is not bad, not bad at all. I keep watching this YouTube video of Dimash singing 'Swan Goose' with Tengger @ Tengri because of the ethnic instruments and sound incorporated into the performance.   And the two singers sound and look so good together.  You'd never think that there could be such a fascinating collaboration between a young Kazakh singer dressed in a sharp suit and a Chinese Mongol artist who does throat singing.  I"ve heard about Tengger before but was never bothered to listen to him.. until this performance.   What lush vocals....I've been reading up about Tengger and people describe his vocals as sweeping, as if he brings you over the vastness of the prairie.  Funny, that is exactly how I feel about Dimash's vocals too.  For those who may be interested, this performance was at the Jiangsu Satellite TV Spring Festival Gala on 5 February 2019.
